The Rihanna Rapports is an archive in an edition of one copy by Ditte Ejlerskov. It consists of captions of American pop-star Rihanna’s modes of expression through fashion. The word “rapport” refers to the word “report” – but it has a different content. This archive as a true fan art projects, and the word “rapport” occurs here because it is used when two or more people feel that they are in sync or on the same wavelength because they feel similar or relate well to each other. Besides, the word literally means “to carry something back” – what one person sends out the other sends back.
The Rihanna Rapports are placed in 30 red boxes on red plints. They consist of A5 sketchbooks, colour tests, pallette books and photos from the studio, texts and screen drops with information documenting not only the studio work but also each outfit and situation around Rihanna on different days of her paparazzi-documented and commercialized life.
